GEPCO Bill Due Date & Late Surcharge (LPS) Rules
Learn how NEPRA's Late Payment Surcharge (LPS) is calculated when a GEPCO electricity bill is paid after the due date, and how to apply for due date extensions.
What is Late Payment Surcharge (LPS)?
Under NEPRA Customer Services Code, a Late Payment Surcharge (LPS) is added to your GEPCO bill if the total payable amount is not deposited on or before the official due date printed on your bill. Check your due date anytime on our GEPCO Online Bill Checker.
How is GEPCO LPS Calculated?
- Residential & Commercial Tariffs: LPS is calculated as 10% of the net bill amount (excluding taxes and government duties) if paid within 3 days after due date.
- Industrial Tariffs: LPS for industrial supply is calculated based on prevailing bank interest rates per annum.
Bank Processing Cutoff Times for Online Payments
When paying your bill online via EasyPaisa, JazzCash, or bank apps (see 10 Ways to Pay GEPCO Bill Online), ensure payment is submitted before 11:59 PM on the due date. Payments submitted after midnight are processed on the next business day and may incur late charges.
How to Request Due Date Extension Without Late Surcharge
If paper bill delivery was delayed or you encountered financial difficulties, visit your local Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) or Revenue Officer (RO) before 2:00 PM on the due date to request a 3-day to 5-day due date extension. Contact info is available on our GEPCO Helpline Directory.
